This gas station is located in a small cottage town Northeast of Toronto with many nearby homes, businesses, and tourists. It is located in the city centre and benefits from local and pass through traffic.
The market in this area was competitive, with three competing gas station sites within 5 KM.
The owner purchased this site with the intention of converting it to Esso. With the help from Global Fuels this project was completed in a timely manner with limited down time.
Scope of work:
Renovated the convenience store
Installed new fuel pumps which offers Synergy fuel
Replaced the canopy with the new Esso design
Installed a new road sign and outdoor lighting
Key Improvement
Through the Esso Fleet cards and PC Optimum loyalty program the owner is benefitting from the large Esso customer base.
The project faced several challenges inherent to gas station conversions in busy locations.
It was important to limit the down time of the gas station during conversion. This was achieved by organizing the steps and contractors to complete the switch as quickly as possible.
The owner needed to make sure customers recognized and accepted the new Esso brand.
There were other gas stations nearby, so it was important to stay competitive and attract customers.
We created a plan that focused on efficiency, brand consistency, and market competitiveness.
Our team worked closely with the gas station owner to make sure there was minimal disruption to their business during the change. We used our expertise in Esso brand standards to create a strong and consistent brand identity for the station.
The gas station was completely renovated, including upgrades to the convenience store, fuel pumps, canopy, signs, and lighting. This created a better experience for customers.
The owner now benefits from the addition of the popular PC Optimum loyalty program to attract and keep loyal customers.
We helped the owner with competitive supply rates that would keep the station competitive with other gas stations in the area.
The conversion yielded significant positive outcomes for the client.
The gas station has sold more fuel and attracted more customers since the change. The new Esso brand is more visible, customers are more loyal, and the station is more competitive in the local market. The owner was very satisfied with all the work completed that they have since opened a second location with Glodal Fuels.
