David Armstrong is the President of Global Fuels, Inc. He founded the company in 2002 and has steered its growth from a wholesale fuel distributor to a leading ESSO and Mobil-branded distributor in Canada.

In 1993, David led a group of investors in acquiring the assets of Cango Inc. and rebuilt the brand into a successful retail fuel delivery service in Ontario and Quebec.

David assembled a team of dedicated fuel industry experts to form Global Fuels in 2002. Within four years, Global Fuels grew to supply hundreds of retail gas stations throughout Eastern Canada. His hands-on management approach and deep petroleum business expertise have been instrumental to the success of Global Fuels and its dealer clients.

Dave formed a strategic partnership with BG Fuels in 2017 to bring the Mobil Brand to Canada. Global Fuels works in partnership with BG Fuels and Imperial Oil to grow the Mobil brand in Canada. Dave continues to play an active role in BG Fuels.

David is a graduate of McMaster University with a Bachelor of Engineering and Master of Business Administration. He was inducted into the McMaster Alumni Gallery in 2006 in recognition of his accomplishments.

As Vice President, Andrew Armstrong oversees the sales process at Global Fuels Inc. With a substantial background in finance, marketing and customer management, Andrew focuses on driving scalable growth as Global Fuels continues to expand in Canada.

Andrew works closely with the sales team to optimize the retail fuel sales cycle and implement new business. His passion for the industry is clear in his initiatives to continually drive accretive value and leverage resources to help dealers succeed.

Andrew is a graduate of Queen’s University with a Master of Business Administration and the Richard Ivey School of Business.

Dawn Fanelli joined Global Fuels Inc. in 2022, bringing 15+ years of financial experience to the team.  She started her career in public practice accounting, focusing on owner-operated businesses, and spent the last 8 years in a senior finance role in the transportation and logistics industry.
Dawn’s breadth of experience includes leadership, accounting, finance, and process management.
Dawn is a graduate of Sir Wilfred Laurier in Waterloo.

Christian Payette is the Strategic Advisor of Global Fuels Inc. He works closely with Daniel Poirier and Donald MacDonald, territory managers, to maximize the presence of Esso and Mobil banners in this sector and help dealers reach the full potential of their company offering the best service to the customer.

Christian also takes care of the business development in the West of the province of Quebec as well as in Eastern Ontario through existing Global Fuels dealers and also promotes dealers who want to change their banners the to Esso or Mobil brands.

Christian has over 41 years of experience in the petroleum industry in many different areas: distribution, supply, business management and customer service.

Christian is a graduate in business administration and marketing.

Anthony Simanavicius is a Manager of Business Development for Global Fuels Inc. He works passionately to help dealers transition to Global Fuels and deliver exceptional customer service, safety, and overall representation of the ESSO and Mobil brands.

Anthony came to Global Fuels in 2013 with 38 years of experience in retail marketing sales and dealer development. Working with Imperial Oil, Anthony developed expertise in fuel distribution, trucking, and haulage, lubricants, and industrial wholesale. He was instrumental in the conversion of company-owned gas station sites to the current BW supply model.

Anthony is an active supporter of numerous community programs including Habitat for Humanity, McMaster Children’s Hospital, Rebecca Run for Spinal Muscular Atrophy, United Way, and Stair Climb for Cancer. He is also known for coaching minor sports in the Burlington area for 12 years.

Anthony is a graduate of Sheridan College in Business Marketing and Sales.

Jeff Graham is a Manager of Business Development at Global Fuels Inc. Since joining the company in 2015, Jeff has managed relationships for 40 locations and secured new accounts through NTIs and competitive gains. His expertise has helped dealers grow their businesses and surpass the ESSO and Mobil brand standards.

Prior to working with Global Fuels, Jeff gained 34 years of experience in retail fuels marketing with Imperial Oil. He managed the transition of COSS sites to Imperial Oil’s current branded distributors model. Jeff’s distinguished work earned him several sales and leadership awards, including the Commitment to Leadership Award, National Fleet Award and Retail Sales Blitz from 2007 to 2015.

Jeff is passionate about sports as a participant, spectator and coach. He volunteers with organizations like In From the Cold and the Heart & Stroke Foundation, and sponsoring children through ERDO and World Vision.

Jeff is a graduate of Seneca College with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing.

 

Anita Tuerk joined the team at Global Fuels Inc. in 2019. Anita has been part of the gas and convenience channel for over 30 years with 10 years as a Territory Manager with Loblaw and was part of the transition to the successful Mobil brand with BG Fuels. Anita’s background includes retail fuel and c-store business ownership with franchised food businesses.

Anita’s role with Global Fuels includes upholding the highest standards of the ESSO & Mobil Site Experience Program, retail pricing strategies & frontline support for the dealer network. Anita takes great pride and pleasure working transparently and authentically with dealers and retailers to grow their business with profitability and excellence in customer service.

Being part of the fuel industry is a lifetime passion and being part of the Global Fuels Team is like being part of a great family.

David Genest came to Global Fuels in 2019 with 12 years of experience in fuels marketing and retail sales. Working with Imperial Oil, David developed an expertise in fuels marketing and convenience store management by managing territories across the country including the Greater Toronto Area, Greater Montreal and Greater Vancouver regions. David’s work at Imperial also included management of their proprietary financial model for company-owned Esso stations giving him excellent insights into operating both low and high complexity gasoline retail sites.

David is a Business Development Manager for Western Canada. He works passionately to help dealers transition to Global Fuels and deliver exceptional customer service, safety, and overall representation of the ESSO and Mobil brands.

David looks forward to improving your business opportunity by working closely with third parties like Tim Hortons and leveraging the President’s Choice Optimum (PCO) program and Synergy branded fuels associated with the ESSO and Mobil brands.

David is a graduate of the Sauder School of Business at UBC with specialization in Finance.

Ken Sherring Joined Global Fuels in 2021 with 15 years of sales experience in fuels marketing and consumer packaged goods industries. Working with independent dealers, Ken has developed an expertise in fuels marketing and convenience store management. Ken has experience in working with station owners through new to industry sites and competitive conversions.

Ken is a Business Development Manager for Alberta. He works closely with dealers to transition to Global Fuels and deliver exceptional customer service, station operation advice, and execution of the Esso and Mobil brands.

Ken looks forward to working with you to improve the performance of your business by providing top tier brands in Esso and Mobil, competitive pricing, and operational excellence as your Business Development Manager.

Ken is a graduate of Mount Royal University with a specialization in Marketing.

Jean joined the Global Fuels team in 2023 as a business development manager for the Atlantic Region.

Jean himself built, owned and operated an Esso location, so he understands how to assist you with your Esso needs. He understands the value in having premium branding and excellent support.

With over 10 years of business development experience specifically with the Esso brand, Jean will not only be able to help you with your business development but will assist you to ensure your future success.

Steve joined the Global Fuels family in 2022 as the Senior Manager of Business Development for Atlantic Canada. Steve brings to Global Fuels 21 years of experience in the Fuel/Retail Industry, with 18 years directly working with the Esso brand. He was in the forefront of the Esso Synergy Brand Launch, PC Optimum and redemption program, Esso Bulloch point of sale roll outs as well as Esso/Mobil business fleet card sales in Atlantic.

Steve’s passion for business development has seen smooth transitions for current retailers to the Esso brand as well as new to industry developments in Atlantic Canada. He works closely with 3rd party partners such as various Liquor Corporation’s in Atlantic, Mary Brown’s, and Tim Hortons to help you bring your volumes to new levels. Steve also works with the Halifax Chamber of Commerce to help promote the Esso/Mobil Brand throughout HRM.
His knowledge and understanding of the Atlantic market will be instrumental in moving your ideas forward to a fully operational business. Steve looks forward to working with you to help develop and support your business further with the Esso/Mobil Brand.

Daniel Poirier has been with Global Fuels Inc. as a Territory Manager since 2004. He works closely with dealers to maximize their business’s potential and offer the best possible service to their customers.

As a Canadian fuel industry veteran, Daniel is a key point of contact for any question or problem concerning retail gas distribution. He takes enormous pride in his role in transforming gas station sites into models for the ESSO and Mobil brands.

Daniel has a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Public Relations.

Michel Tardif is the General Manager of Global Fuels Inc. for the province of Quebec since 2023. He works closely with Daniel Poirier, Territory Manager, to maximize the presence of Esso and Mobil banners in the Quebec area. He also helps dealers to reach the full potential of their company by offering the best service and support to the customer. 

Prior to working with Global Fuels, Michel gained 33 years of experience with Imperial Oil in Commercial Sales and Retail Fuels as National Branded Account Manager.  

Michel also takes care of the business development in Quebec through existing Global Fuels dealers and also collaborates with dealers who want to change their banners to Esso or Mobil brands. 

Michel has an extended experience of the petroleum industry and the various facets associated with it such as distribution, supply, business management, loyalty program and customer service. 

Michel has studied Business Law at University of Montreal.

Andrea Landry is the Project Manager at Global Fuels Inc. responsible for all new site implementation and competitive conversion projects, rollout of equipment and technology initiatives for the Esso and Mobil networks, and implementing Esso and Mobil programs. Andrea started at Global Fuels in 2003 and has held numerous positions at the company. She is highly experienced in the industry and maintains strong relationships with contractors across the country. Andrea ensures a seamless site opening takes place for all of our Dealers by managing the end to end new site implementation process.

In addition to her considerable contributions to Global Fuels, Andrea is an active member of the Down Syndrome Association of Hamilton. Global Fuels is proud to be the title sponsor of the organization’s annual Hamilton Walk for Down Syndrome.

Andrea is a graduate of McMaster University with a degree in Psychology. She holds an Accounting certificate from Mohawk College.

Michele is an Accountant and Client Liaison. Her responsibilities at Global Fuels Inc. include administering accounts receivable for all fuel deliveries to ensure that systems are up-to-date and deadlines are met each day.

Global Fuels gas station dealers in Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick recognize Michele for her positive and enthusiastic client service. She excels working solo and as a team player, which shows both in her professional and personal achievements.

Michele is a graduate of Bishop’s University with a degree in Business Administration and a minor in Marketing.

Nathan Simanavicius is a Sales Associate for Global Fuels Inc. He works with prospective dealers to transition them to becoming Global Fuels Dealers.

Nathan joined Global Fuels in 2021 as a co-op student and started full-time in 2022. He is committed to growing the dealer network while focusing on providing exceptional customer service to our Dealers.

Nathan is a graduate of Brock University with a degree in Business Communication with a specialization in Sales and Marketing.

Jesse Crozier joined the Global Fuels team in July 2022 with over 22 years of inventory management and customer service experience. Jesse’s prior experience includes transportation dispatch, managing multi-customer inventory programs for industrial steel and bulk products for 100+ customers nation-wide.

Jesse works with our commission-based sites, providing exceptional support and service. Outside of work, Jesse enjoys being a hockey & baseball mom, in the stands and on the ice herself.

Diana Vasquez is the assistant controller at Global Fuels Inc. Diana is a Chartered Professional Accountant, and she earned her designation while working in public accounting with a focus in tax. Diana then worked as the Financial Controller for a transportation and logistics company, before joining Global Fuels in 2023.

Diana is a graduate of McMaster University with a Bachelor of Commerce and a Graduate diploma of professional Accounting.
